Saw several interesting 70s vehicles on Craigslist tonight, figured I’d share ‘em. Despite growing up in that decade, I know diddly/squat about these, so if you think they’re junk, well, you’re probably right!

First, holy shit, I need to text David Tracy. Prize quote from this one: “worked a route last sat”.

The lack of additional photos is worrisome, but man...

Also desperately needing more photos, this 1970 Bronco looks mighty sweet. Yes, at 28k it’s approaching ICON price without the corresponding quality (probably), but I’m just here for the pretty pictures.

Sticking with the 4x4 theme (yes, I know the DJ isn’t a 4x4 but get off my lawn), here’s a 1973 J20. And very close to me. This one will be tough to resist, but I can’t afford it anyway, thankfully.

There are several 1970s CJs for sale, but I think I’ve done enough Jeep evangelism for the moment , so instead, here’s a lovely 1972 FJ40 complete with a new wench . ( I didn’t think selling women on Craigslist was still legal, but who am I to say?)

You may remember !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I posted a few days ago; here’s a 1977 Triumph Spitfire to join it in a very cool garage which I sadly don’t own.

And one more convertible, because they are my catnip:

The DJ is just a 2WD CJ with a fixed roof

Yeah, I realized after that was about a factor of 3-4 too cheap.

I should have been a hedge fund manager.

Po stal jeeps are cool as hell. Too bad every one I've seen is 2wd auto. Would still be cool to roll around town in, or take the body and put it on a 4wd.

DJs delivered the mail in my neighborhood growing up. Driving 50 feet, stopping, driving 50 feet, stopping all day isn’t ideal for stick shift.

Pretty sure they were all 2WD, but you could probably steal the necessary drive train from a CJ. Or, you’re probably right, just move the body over.

I had a shot at one that was basically toast from an electrical problem, but waited too long to check it out.

Chrysler has a history of making any vehicle available as a rhd mail carrier, so there’s probably someone somewhere with a CJ, although if it were a rural carrier it may not have the US PS livery.
